Update: I’m travelling the world! + other things

Hey all!

So this is a pretty major update regarding the blog, some changes and my current situation.

Remember way back at the start of the year where I made an update and briefly mentioned towards the end that there was a huge lifestyle change coming in August? Well, that big change is finally happening.

Quite a few of you already know at this point, but for those who don’t know, on the 19th August my wife and I are going to be travelling around South East Asia, and likely many other parts of the world, for the foreseeable future. It’s long been our dream to live an on-the-road lifestyle, travelling to new and exciting places and seeing what the world has to offer. It’s been something that we’ve spent over the last year preparing for, saving up money towards and planning out. We’ve already both quit our full time jobs and will be leaving behind everything we own to get ourselves out there and go on this crazy adventure.

Now, don’t worry. The blog isn’t going anywhere. You’re all coming with me. I’m bringing my laptop and I fully intend to keep writing content for Lethargic Ramblings and interacting with you all as the wife and I travel the world.

My wife and I are also going to be starting a second blog with a focus on travelling and living a more positive, carefree lifestyle. We’re currently in the process of designing the website and we’re hoping to have it ready in the near future. When it’s ready, I’ll be sure to share it with you all, but for now you can follow us on Instagram.

…Yes. That is my name and face.

And… I also have something else to announce:

Lethargic Ramblings is now officially on Patreon.

Unfortunately, travelling the world requires money and our long-term goal is to continue living an on-the-road lifestyle for as long as possible. I’ve come to the realisation that writing is something that I want to start taking more seriously and hopefully turn into something that I can generate some income from. Even if it’s just a little bit to help us get by.

Naturally, there’s nice things like Reward Tiers for those you decide to pledge, these may change over time as I’m new to all this stuff and have never tried anything even remotely close to this before. And of course there’s no pressure for anyone to donate, but I’d greatly appreciate it if you have a dollar (or more) to spare.

You can check out the page here if you’re interested.

I’d appreciate it!

In terms of the blog and its content, there’s a lot of stuff coming too. I have a huge collaboration post coming out featuring Scott from Mechanical Anime Reviews and Shoujo Thoughts. This should be out really soon.

On top of that, I’ve also got a ton of other projects in the works, including a series Retrospective for the WIXOSS Anime, Part 2 of the Reborn! Retrospective and some other top secret things that will be announced in the near future.

That’s all from me just now. Expect more content soon and, as always, thank you for reading and for your continued support.

      1. No problem! Thanks for the follow back, I appreciate it. ^^

That’s true – I always enjoy writing about conventions and other places I go to. It’s nice to reflect on the journey and also to share with others too!

  2. And my first guess on that update post was a correct one! 🙂

Don’t forget to maintain a balance between enjoying what you’re doing and writing for pay about what you’re doing.

    1. I did thanks!

It was a life changing and eye opening experience. We ended up coming home earlier than expected, because we missed our family and the security of having a home to come back to (among other things), but it was still one of the best experiences of my life and I’m a better person for it!
